Waikanae Firsts continued their winning ways with a 2-1 victory over Island Bay Reserves at Jim Cooke on 4 May. The ‘force’ was definitely with Waikanae on Star Wars Day as goals to Lawrance and Logan were enough to see them prevail in front of a good home crowd. After a week off the Firsts next game will be against Olympic at Wakefield Park on 18 May.
On the adjacent field Division 2 leaders Jets managed to stave off a strong challenge from the improving Choppers 3-2 in a close fought derby match to remain clear at the top of the grade.
