With the football season drawing to a close Waikanae have two senior teams contesting end of season finals on Saturday 26th.
The Jets will travel to Manakau to take on Manakau United in the Plate final having dispatched KCU Thirds convincingly 6-0 in the semi final last weekend. The path of the Wanderers to the Bowl final was even more smoother thanks to Otaki Purutaitama defaulting their semi-final match up. The Wanderers have an earlier 12.30pm kick off as they meet KCU The Force on Weka Park.
The season is over for the Strollers who have wrapped up third place in the Cup and the Hawks have taken third place in the Bowl. First season team the Coasters, who have a bye, are in with a mathematical chance of winning the Shield but require a result to go their way on Saturday.
The senior teams are joined in a finals match by Waikanae’s u13 Osos Poderosos who play Stop Out in the u13 Premier final at Hutt Park with a 10am kick off.
Holding the fort at home Waikanae Firsts will have a tough match on Jim Cooke against Cap 2 winners Petone who have only lost once in 17 games this season.
All the best to our teams for their matches this weekend.
