Five Finalists for Waikanae at 2023 Capital Football Awards

The winter season is fading into the past but it’s not over just yet. The Capital Football Awards are taking place on Friday 27 October and from the nominations put forward by the Club we have five finalists! On the wave of good form by the Ladyhawks they have two finalists in the “Womens 1-3 Player of the Year” with Zoe Linstrom joining club ‘Golden Boot’ Ngaire Dolman in the quest for the major award. There are 34 teams in total across these three divisions so to have two players make the final three is a great achievement in itself. The other category where the Club has finalists is the ‘Horowhenua-Kapiti Local League Player of the Year’. Another massive achievement for the Club with a clean sweep of finalists from the local clubs. Sturman Cup winner Cole McIntosh (Coasters) is joined by Michael Edridge (Jets) and Lewis Plumley (Hawks) – so a certain prize for the Club, just a question of who in a tight race. The Club is proud to have five fine finalists representing the many great senior players we have in this wonderful Club. To the finalists: good luck, waimarie pai!
