Manakau FC have grasped the pre-season Erin Walter Cup from holders Otaki Purutaitama after a 3-3 stalemate in the final led to a penalty shootout. As the nailbiting penalty shootout continued in deadlock, Manakau eventually prevailed 9-8. The tournament is run annually on a handicap system attracting teams from Wellington and Wairarapa as well as local clubs. Held in memory of Waikanae stalwart Erin Walter thanks are due to the organising committee led by Dave Horton and all who helped out on the day
