Super 6’s Summer Soccer resumes 14 January

Among the many things to look forward to in 2021 will be the resumption of Waikanae’s Super 6’s summer soccer competition on 14 January. As 2020 drew to a close, the round-robin completed on 10 December with the teams determined for the two division split rounds. Summer Saints were clear winners of the round-robin undefeated after 9 rounds, second placed were PES with 7 wins, a draw and just one defeat. There was a log jam with three teams tied on points for the two remaining positions, Walking Injuries and Cuttriss Commandos making the cut on goal difference ahead of OAMND. OAMND have now joined Velocity, Coasters, Momentum, Hawks and Ladyhawks in the second division.
One round of the split leagues was completed before the Christmas break with Summer Saints and PES registering wins in Division One while OAMND, Hawks and Velocity were winners in Division Two. The competition resumes on 14 January and carries on through to a final series which will begin on 4 February for Division Two and 11 February for Division One. The Grand Finals and playoffs are set for 18 February.
